It’s time for a much needed photo update! This month, we take a look at the progress for the transformation of Cyclone Bay to The Underground, alongside the construction of West Coast Racers.
The Underground is a newly renovated LA-centric urban-themed area featuring various new dining, retail, and game locations. This high-energy street is also home to Apocalypse: The Ride and two existing uncharge attractions: Slingshot & Cyclone 500 Go Kart Racing.
As of now, there's minimal progress around the area.
Majority of the work looks to be inside the buildings.
West Coast Racers
The construction of West Coast Racers and its surrounding area into The Underground is moving at a slow pace, with the most significant change being the addition of rebar on the property. It is possible that footers will be constructed within the next two weeks and we will see them being poured later next month, making the progress accelerate. In addition to the rebar, supports pieces have finally arrived at the park and have been stored adjacent to the parking lot.
That’ll do it for this photo update. Don't forgot to view our latest episode of Road To West Coast Racers. Be sure to follow Thrill Capital Insider for continuing coverage of Six Flags Theme Parks.

Magic Mountain hosted an announcement event to kick off the 2019 announcements for the Six Flags chain. Racing ahead with the record for most coaster in any park in the world, the park announced it's newest addition to their coaster dynasty, West Coast Racers. Magic Mountain is partnering with the world famous West Coast Customs, an automobile repair & customization shop, to bring the thematic elements to life on the new ride.
MINI CONSTRUCTION TOUR
We were able to visit the future site of the park's newest coaster. As of right now, markers and dirt surround the area. This used to be the former site of several retail buildings that stood at the park since the opening of Spillikin Corners, later retrofitted for Cyclone Bay.
That's all for today! Hope you enjoyed the new announcement.
